Motul Specific 0W-30
100% synthetic high performance and fuel saving lubricant (Fuel Economy) designed for recently built vehicles of the VAG group (Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat), equipped with Euro 4, Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines for which it is required the use of lubricants with low sulphur, phosphorus and sulphated ash content (Low SaPS). The Motul Specific 504 00 - 507 00 0W-30 is compatible with the previous specifications for petrol engines 501 01, 502 00, 503 00, 503 01 and for Diesel engines 505 00, 505 01, 506 00 and 506 01. VOLKSWAGEN engines R5 and V10 TDI from 2003 to 2007 must only use a lubricant with VW 506 01 approval and SAE 0W-30 viscosity such as Motul Specific 506 01 506 00 503 00 0W-30. Oil change intervals remain fixed at 15,000 km in Europe for vehicles requiring a VW 501 01, 502 00, 505 00 or 505 01 approved lubricant, even if Motul Specific 504 00 507 00 0W-30 or the Motul Specific 504 00 507 00 5W-30. In case of doubt, before use always refer to the vehicle's use and maintenance manual.
Euro 4, Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines are equipped with very sensitive exhaust gas after-treatment systems. In fact, phosphorus and sulfur hinder the correct functioning of the catalytic converter with consequent ineffective treatment of gases; Sulphated ash can clog diesel particulate filters (DPF) resulting in a shorter regeneration cycle, higher fuel consumption, faster lubricant aging and decreased engine power. Volkswagen has developed the VW 504 00 - 507 00 specification for lubricants with low sulphur, phosphorus and sulphated ash content, compatible with the after-treatment systems used on its cars such as catalytic converters, SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) and DPF, to ensure perfect durability of VAG group engines (Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat). These lubricants allow extended and flexible replacement intervals, directly managed by the on-board computer.
